Be A Tourist

BAT Logo 2021

Calling All Tourism, Hospitality and Retail Businesses!

We're launching the 4th edition of Be A Tourist In Your Own Town - with a twist!

When you register your business to participate in the campaign, you'll need to provide information about a product or service that you want to promote and sell. We'll include this information in our coupon booklet and when your customers purchase that product or service, the coupon can be entered into our draw to win great local prizes!

We want to be clear - businesses are not being asked to provide a discount. Instead, tell us how consumers can best support your business and we'll reward your customers when they do!

Examples include:

  • Tip 20%
  • Book a tour for 4 people
  • Spend $50
  • Order a meal for take-out
  • Purchase 2 products from a particular brand
  • Etc.

There are no restrictions on the type of consumer spending you can incentivize!

To register, contact: Admin@YKChamber.com or 867.920.4944

The deadline to register is March 31, 2021.

How It Works For Businesses

What type of consumer spending do you want to incentivize? Maybe you want to reward your staff by encouraging consumers to tip more, or maybe you're offering a new product or service that you'd like to upsell - the goal of this campaign is to drive more traffic into your business while rewarding consumers for shopping local and supporting local businesses.

Registering your business is easy and participating in the campaign is free! To register, contact: Admin@YKChamber.com or 867.920.4944

We'll create the coupon books and deliver them to participating businesses. Coupon books will also be mailed to every residence in Yellowknife.

All participating businesses are required to provide a drawbox so entries for the draw can be accepted. At the end of the campaign, we will pick-up the coupons businesses have collected.

Timelines:

Registration is open from: February 15 to March 31

Coupon book delivery to businesses: April 15 & 16

Campaign Launches: Monday, April 19

Campaign Closes: Sunday, May 23

Coupon pickup from businesses: May 25 & 26

Draw date: May 28

What Does No Purchase Necessary Mean?

Each consumer can redeem one coupon per booklet for an entry into the draw, without making an eligible purchase.

How It Works For Consumers

Pick-up a coupon book from any participating business (or check the mail - coupon books will be sent to every residence in Yellowknife).

Participate in the campaign by purchasing the product or service listed on a coupon. The more places you visit, the more chances you have to win!

Each coupon is a ballot that can be entered into a draw to win great prizes. Drawboxes are available at participating businesses.
