During the 2025 #ShopYK campaign, a total of 2,229 eligible submissions were received, tracking $416,660 in local spending across participating Yellowknife businesses.
Thank you to everyone who made the choice to support local businesses this holiday season. Every purchase matters and helps strengthen our local economy. We encourage residents to keep that momentum going and continue shopping local throughout the year.

Your commitment to promoting the program, engaging shoppers, and helping spread the shop local message made a real difference. Your collective efforts helped drive participation, increase local spending, and support businesses across our community.
This Shop Local initiative was hosted by the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Yellowknife and the Government of the Northwest Territories – Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment.

40 Participating Businesses:
Contest Entry Period: November 12 – December 14, 2025, at 11:59pm.
For every $25 spent, you’ll earn 1 entry (net of tax)
The more you shop, the more chances you can win!
How to Enter:
• Shop at a participating local business.
• Complete the official contest form.
Contest Details:
Weekly Prize Draw* Dates: November 17, 24, December 1, 8, 2025.
TEN lucky weekly winners will be chosen to receive $125 prize packages of preselected gift cards from participating businesses. (Weekly winners are still eligible for the grand prize draws!)
Grand Prize Draw Details:
First Prize: $2000*
Second Prize: $1,000*
Third Prize: $500*

By entering the contest, participants agree their name may be published on the Chamber's and/or partners websites, social media channels, and/or press releases if selected as a winner.

Each participant may only win one weekly prize during the contest.
Weekly prizes consist of pre-selected gift cards from participating businesses.
Winning a weekly prize does not affect eligibility for the grand prize draws.
